In the visual promotion and business communication of marine science research industry, high-precision ocean research vessel display model serves as a core carrier to present the vessel design concept and clearly show the hull contour, multi-deck superstructure and deck operation equipment. We customized this ocean research vessel display model for marine research enterprise. With more than 90% structural restoration rate and delicate craftsmanship, the model fully replicates the streamlined hull shape, multi-layer cabin superstructure, deck cranes, radar and communication equipment components. It helps customers display vessel design highlights in enterprise exhibition halls and marine industry exhibitions.
The customer requires static display. The model should accurately restore the outline of the research vessel, multi-story superstructure, deck mechanical devices and various external fittings. It needs to adapt to exhibition transportation and long-term display in exhibition halls, balancing visual presentation and overall structural stability. Based on the design drawings of research vessel, we divide the whole model into three core modules: main hull section, superstructure and deck operation equipment area, base and nameplate display area, and clarify the scale and display focus of each module.
For material selection, taking display requirement and structural stability into consideration, we adopt easy-to-shape and stable sheet profiles to make the hull shell and main framework. Lightweight materials are processed to produce tiny parts including cranes, radar, railings and bollard components to control the total weight of the model. Meanwhile, color paste matching green, white, blue, yellow and brown tones is prepared in advance for subsequent multi-layer painting procedures.
Module separation and basic formingWe adopt modular processing and separately produce each component.Main hull section: Cutting, shaping and polishing are applied to restore the robust hull shape of research vessel. The surface is finely treated to reproduce the segmented hull structure and outline features.Superstructure and deck operation equipment area: Independently fabricate multi-layer cabin structure, wheelhouse and platform frame. Fine parts such as deck cranes, antenna and radar are assembled to fully show the deck working layout of ocean research vessel.Base and marking: Custom supporting display base with reserved slots for metal nameplate and logo installation, reserving space for display lighting to optimize the overall exhibition effect.
Precision assembly and structural calibrationDuring assembly, fix the main hull on the base and calibrate the horizontal position with positioning fixtures to keep the whole vessel model in stable posture. Then assemble superstructure, deck cranes, radar and other fittings step by step. Position verification is carried out after each group of assembly to ensure the relative position of all components consistent with the prototype. For deck mechanical assemblies, we adopt step-by-step assembly process. Fix the main structure first, then install small accessories, and reinforce connection points of delicate parts to prevent displacement during transportation.
Surface treatment and paintingAfter all components are assembled, polish the whole model surface carefully to eliminate assembly seams and burrs and achieve smooth texture. Then carry out layered painting work:Hull shell: The underwater part is painted brown, the hull side is white with blue decorative strips. Light and shade color processing is used to highlight the three-dimensional sense of hull.Deck and accessories: Deck surface is painted green. Deck cranes are finished with bright yellow, railings and other small mechanical parts are painted with black color separation to distinguish different components.Logo and text: Silk printing can be used to print marks on the hull surface with clear and wear-resistant patterns and characters.A transparent protective varnish is sprayed on the finished model to improve surface texture and reduce paint aging for long-time display.
Display optimizationInstall display lights on the base and adjust lighting angle to focus on the multi-layer superstructure and deck operation equipment, highlighting the professional features of ocean research vessel. Custom transparent dust-proof cover is available to block dust. Visitors can clearly view all structural details while realizing dust protection and good visual experience.
The finished model achieves over 90% restoration degree. It fully reproduces the appearance of ocean research vessel, multi-deck superstructure layout and deck supporting accessories. With exquisite workmanship and stable structure, it can bear exhibition transportation and long-term static display in exhibition halls. Customers comment that the ocean research vessel model has outstanding presentation effect in marine industry exhibitions and enterprise exhibition halls. It can directly show the overall structure and deck equipment layout of research vessel, helping visitors quickly understand the vessel design, and acts as an important display carrier for marine research equipment presentation and business negotiation.
This project once again proves our professional capability in custom industrial display models. Adhering to the philosophy of realistic restoration and fine craftsmanship, we provide customized model solutions for marine scientific research, marine technology and equipment manufacturing enterprises, and support visual display and promotion of various engineering projects.
