Architectural model production case: Sand table model of residential community
In the field of architectural design and display, sand table models serve as an intuitive and effective tool that can present design concepts and planning layouts to the audience in a three-dimensional and vivid manner. The following is a case study of making a sand table model for a residential community.
This project aims to create a sand table model of a residential community to showcase the overall planning, architectural layout, landscape design, and other aspects of the community. The model requires a high degree of restoration and can accurately display various details of the community.
The production team first collected detailed design drawings of the community, including the overall plan, building elevation, landscape design, etc., as the basis for production. In terms of materials, ABS board was selected as the main building material, which is easy to cut and shape, and has certain strength and stability. The greenery in the community is simulated using different colored velvet and plastic flowers and plants. The roads and squares use textured cardboard to enhance realism.
The production process starts from the main building. According to the design drawings, cut the ABS board into corresponding shapes and splice them together to create the outline of the residential building. For details such as windows and balconies in the building, miniature plastic parts are used for decoration, making the building more realistic. In terms of color selection for the building, we referred to the actual architectural rendering and blended similar colors for spraying to ensure color accuracy.
Next is landscape production. According to the landscape design plan, arrange green areas within the community. Lay green velvet cloth in the corresponding position to simulate grassland; Decorate it with plastic flowers and plants of different colors to create a rich vegetation effect. At the same time, small tree models were set up in the community to increase the sense of hierarchy in the landscape.
The production of roads and squares is also very particular. Use textured cardboard to lay roads and simulate the real texture of the road surface. In the square area, some small sculptures and leisure facility models have been added to make the square more lively.
Finally, there are lighting and scene arrangements. In order to enhance the display effect of the model, miniature LED lights were installed inside the building and in the public areas of the community to simulate the lighting effect at night. At the same time, some small vehicles and character models were placed in the community to create a lively atmosphere.
After careful production, the sand table model of this residential community finally presents a high degree of restoration, with every detail handled very well
In place. Through this model, the audience can intuitively understand the overall planning and design concept of the community, as if they were in a real community. It not only provides strong support for the display and promotion of the project, but also serves as a reference for subsequent construction and development.
