Aircraft Model Manufacturing Case Study
Project Background
Commissioned by a client, our factory undertook a precision model manufacturing project for a fighter jet, with a requirement for over 90% accuracy in appearance reproduction. The model utilises a modular assembly design to ensure precise detail presentation while facilitating transportation and display.

Core Processes
Frame Formation
The main frame is made of high-strength lightweight alloy, precision-cut and formed to ensure structural stability.
The wings and tail are constructed with a layered structure and internal reinforcing ribs, balancing strength with weight reduction.
Critical connection points are secured using aerospace-grade adhesives combined with mechanical fasteners to prevent deformation from long-term storage.
Skin and Detail Shaping
The fuselage skin is made of high-tensile composite materials, thermoformed to perfectly conform to the skeleton's curves.
Movable components such as the canopy and landing gear doors are moulded independently to ensure smooth opening and closing.
Details like rivets and welds are crafted using micro-engraving techniques to replicate the industrial texture of real combat aircraft.
Surface Treatment and Painting
The primer is applied using a multi-layer spraying process to enhance paint adhesion and prevent oxidation and fading.
The main colour is applied using high-coverage aviation paint to ensure uniform colour without sagging or colour differences.
Weathering treatment employs professional techniques, including:
Airframe wear: Fine dry brushing simulates the peeling paint effect on metal edges.
Oil stains and smoke marks: Transparent glaze is used to create authentic usage traces in the engine compartment and exhaust ports.
Logos and paintwork are applied using water transfer printing technology to ensure clear patterns with no rough edges.
