Aircraft Model Making Case (Taking Civil Aircraft as an Example)
1、 Material preparation
Choose lightweight and plastic materials that balance structural stability and detail presentation:
Main body: select foam board with moderate density (such as polystyrene foam) to facilitate cutting, polishing and support the overall structure;
Wing/tail wing: made of PVC plastic sheet, with good toughness and high strength, ensuring stable shape of components;
Internal seats: injection molded with small plastic pellets or resin to accurately restore the shape of the seats;
Engine: The casing is made of metal textured aluminum foil/silver metal foil to simulate a metallic appearance, and the blades are cut and polished with hard plastic foil;
Window: Transparent acrylic sheet, ensuring transparency and visual realism;
Auxiliary tools: white latex (large area pasting), 502 glue (quick fixing of small parts), art knife (cutting), sandpaper (polishing edges), tweezers (operating small parts), scissors (cutting materials).

2、 Production process
1. Body production
Draw the outline of the body on the foam board, and cut and shape it with a utility knife;
Polish the body curves (such as the nose and tail) with sandpaper to make the edges smooth and natural;
Reserve seat installation space inside the body to lay the groundwork for subsequent details.
2. Wing and tail manufacturing
Draw the shape of the wing/tail on the PVC plastic board, cut it, and then splice and paste it with the fuselage (fixed with white latex) to ensure a secure connection.
3. Internal seat production
Put plastic pellets/resin into the mold for injection molding, and create a single seat;
Arrange the seats neatly with tweezers and stick them in the reserved area inside the body.
4. Engine production
Wrap the engine frame with aluminum foil/metal foil to shape the outer shell;
Plastic sheet blades are cut and polished before being installed inside the engine to simulate the real structure;
Install the engine under the wing, corresponding to the actual aircraft layout.
5. Window installation
Cut the acrylic sheet into the shape of a window and stick it to the corresponding position on the body with 502 glue to restore the window effect.
6. Overall assembly
Assemble the fuselage, wings, tail wing, seats, engine and other components according to the aircraft structure, fix them with glue, and check their stability.
3、 Post processing and coloring
1. Body coloring
Spray primer first to enhance pigment adhesion;
Mix aircraft paint colors (such as white, blue, etc.), spray paint evenly, and pay attention to natural color transitions;
The body text/logo (such as airline name) is pasted with stickers (flat and wrinkle free) or hand drawn (precise font).
2. Engine coloring
Apply silver and black paint to the engine casing to simulate a metallic texture;
Refine leaf shadows to enhance the sense of depth.
3. Detail decoration
Polish the uneven areas with sandpaper to make the surface of the model smooth;
Add details such as navigation lights (LED/colored plastic particles) to enhance the restoration.
Through the above steps, a civil aviation aircraft model with a restoration degree of about 90% can be produced, allowing customers to intuitively feel the appearance and internal structure of the aircraft, as if they were in a factory production site.
